Management of bile duct injuries requires hepatobiliary expertise and transdisciplinary collaboration. Minimally invasive approaches such as endoscopic and percutaneous treatment options have traditionally served as a bridge to surgical repair. In recent years, experts in both fields have been able to demonstrate successful definitive management of bile duct injuries using these approaches. In case of treatment failure, surgical and percutaneous/endoscopic approaches are complementary.
