Bile duct injuries remain a problem inherent to the modern practice of cholecystectomy. Surgeons and endoscopists must remain knowledgeable and at ease in the diagnostic and therapeutic techniques required for the management of bile duct injuries, and develop an approach that incorporates evidence-based recommendations, technical advice from experts in the field of GI and interventional radiology, and resources available at the individual’s institution.
